“A lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.”
Attorneys are well known for milking clients by sending them bill after bill for which the client has little understanding or knowledge. Often it seems an attorney wants to drain a client of every last cent they have. Such conduct on the part of attorneys is commonplace, however, this is not the way it should be. Randy has seen attorneys, especially in lawsuits, who bill their clients without telling the client that they are in a bad position and should settle. This happens every day with attorneys, but it is an unethical practice and you will not find it here at the Law Office of Randy Rumph.
Randy understands the overwhelming costs to a client of fees in any situation, and works with his clients to provide top notch legal service without bankrupting them. He will provide a budget of projected time and costs for any matter if requested. In certain cases Randy will perform work on a capped fee basis or flat fee.
Randy takes many cases on a contingency fee basis including wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation and discrimination cases that come out of the workplace. He will join with a client literally taking on the work with no fees charged, instead will agree to take a percentage of any settlement or judgment. If there is no settlement or judgment, client is only responsible for costs associated with a lawsuit.
In some situations, the work on a project can be agreed upon at a flat rate. Randy will, in some instances, charge a flat rate if the file warrants a flat rate fee. This allows his clients to know up front what the fee will be and they can be assured it will not exceed that sum.
